Wait until you have met your puppy to name it. If i remember correctly you have at least a couple months before its even born.

Give it time, the right name will come to you.

My hubby used to do windows and siding so he was always working somewhere new at peoples houses.
Before we had our first boxer he worked at a house that had a female fawn boxer named Gigi.
He shared his lunch with her everyday and it was right near a school. Gigi would greet all the kids as they walked to school in the morning and again when school got out at the end of the day.
That's what made my husband fall in love with the boxer breed.

When we went to look at Pheona, we didn't take our boys hub & I just went to look. Well we put a deposit on her & took some pictures. Well at the time our middle son liked Shrek so he said why not Fiona. I like to change spellings so hence her name. Then with Murphy looking black, I thought of hubs favorite Irish Stout so hence her name. I like the name Ziva for a dog too.

I will only use real human names on my dogs, it buggs me to death when a dog has a non person name. I named my girl Stella, because its elegant and its one of my favorite beers. And i make sure not to name them something ill name my future kids one day. For girls, Jaelynn and Zooey

The last time I shared a name idea that meant something to me, someone used it themselves. I'll keep my next boxer name a secret. That being said, we sometimes try (when dogs come to us unnamed) to pick a word that means something pertaining to that particular dog. Our first hospice dog was Saba (SAW-buh...Hebrew for grandfather). There is Gadol (guh-DOLE...Hebrew for great, as in grand or large) as he is a great big marshmallow--looks threatening but just a pussycat. Virgil and Wyatt were littermates, so we asked for name ideas for brothers. Tombstone is one of my fav movies, so when someone suggested the Earp brothers, it stuck. One of the people who helped rescue Cinnamon named her, but we call her Cini Mini 'cuz she's tiny.

Both my dogs are named after people from TV shows. Keenyah was one of the models on America's Next Top Model and Horatio is the main CSI guy in CSI: Miami!! LOL. And actually the name I wanted for Horatio was Grissom and I got that name from the main CSI guy in CSI: Las Vegas I actually wanna name my next dog Hotch which is the main character from Criminal Minds. LOL.

I used to love that show!!! I have to say used to because ever since my Sailor deployed, I can't stand watching shows about sailors being murdered. LOL. Ziva would be a cute name!!
