I am not sure why the tread name appears as "dress up"
anyways...Lucy is a rescue puppy and we are considering getting her AKC, but wanted to know if it's really worth it since she will not be bred or a show dog. Are there any benefits of having an AKC dog versus a non AKC dog? she is my first pure breed dog and I have no idea about any kind of this stuff any opinions would be helpful.

I thought you could get certain papers that would allow mixed breeds to show in agility/obedience classes?
As for AKC papers proving her bloodline, Lynne is right. Your puppy would have to come from two registered parents first.

You can get the Pals registration. It allows you to compete in everything but conformation.
Here's a link http://www.akc.org/reg/ilpex.cfm And it's not updated. Boxers can now also compete in herding. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
