my fiance and i are thinking about getting a new baby and a playmate for rigby and as we were at the park we encountered a man with a beautiful white boxer and my fiance fell in love. So i know there is a lot of controversy with the white boxer and i am doing my research but does anyone have any advice about them or where we might find one?

Don't believe the myths about them, most are untrue.
Here is the truth: They have an 8-22 percent chance of being either bilaterally or unilaterally deaf. They are more prone to sunburn. Other than that they are just like their colored siblings. Finding a white boxer is the same as finding any other. Look for reputable breeders Approximately 25 percent of all boxers born are white. |

I don't think you will find too many at reputable breeders... I could be wrong. White boxer are from 2 flashy parents. I would think reputable breeders would avoid that as they are prone to deafness and I think skin problems. I only have this information from researching the breed when I decided to get Nikki. But from my reading... 2 solid parents have solid pups and 1 solid and 1 flashy have solid and flashy pups and 2 flashy have everything including white .,. So I've read...
I do like the white boxers with patch over their eye!! So cute!!! Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Many breeders breed flashy to flashy. Most probably. Flashy does better in the show ring and you get more flashy pups in a flashy to flashy breeding. It would be easy.

Avoid "breeders" who say they have "rare" white boxers like the plague. They aren't rare at all and even reputable breeders end up with white pups in their litters if they breed flashy to flashy as mentioned above. Also as mentioned, they do have a higher occurance of deafness than non-white boxers but not so high as other breeds that occasionally throw whites.
I personally have 2 white boxer pups and they aren't much different in personality at all from their siblings. Not more than one dog is different from another at least. My whitre female has a very high drive and my white male has NO drive at all it seems lol. He's just a big goofy pup. Anyway, ok so whites cannot be shown in confirmation but can compete in I think every other sport. Ah also as mentioned above, I've read that they are prone to sunburn but haven't yet had an issue with that with my babies. Probably because they are spoiled and when it's hot, they stay inside in the air conditioning. |

I myself have a very handsome white boy!!! We chose him initially because he was being offered at the lowest price because he only had one testicle and was white. But as soon as we saw him it was love at first site!!! He is my baby!! His hearing is perfectly normal, his eyesight is fantastic and so far has no allergies to speak of

I have a 6month old white boxer- he is not deaf nor blind.. in fact he is PERFECT (at least in my eyes). He is the biggest sweetheart ever. The only thing we have to be careful with is being in the sun.. we put sunblock on him.. however he is very good and when we are on walks he is attracted to the shade (they do get burnt if you aren't careful). I would get another one in a heart beat!!

Just a recommendation: try to find a reputable breeder as some do get white boxers. If you find a "breeder" who breeds two white boxers to get a litter of white boxers i would not buy from them! According to AKC and CKC the breeding of whites isnt permitted.
You could always find a rescue organization and adopt from there! Plenty of boxers in need of rescue! Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

I don't know why but I think all white dogs have the same concerns. My niece has a white bull terrier and also has to put sun screen on him do he doesn't burn.
