Zoe does that too, I never knew it was related to anything though... I just thought she was being cute and dainty She usually lifts her paw like that when she wants something really bad like a treat or to play.

My Boxer and my German Shepherd mix both point on occasion. Mainly at squirrels and Horatio will point at birds

Ginger points almost every time she sees something she's interested in - birds, kids, bugs, squirrels, a leaf blowing past, etc. She also will crouch down, pause for a few seconds, and then pounce on things like a lion cub. And she's pure boxer, not mixed with any type of bird dog or cat.
