I haven't had to use any of the cones in the past but I'm thinking looking at Stella and Wyatt that if I have to use one, I'll get the blow up ring that Wyatt is using. It looks more comfortable for sure. Stella on the other hand kinda puts me in mind of a satelite dish... "Hello....? Tune in Tokyo"

So for a couple days a small spot on stellas incision is a little red and puffy while everything else seems to be healing well. Last night I noticed it was a little gooey and not getting any better. We called the vet and she has a appt at 4pm tomorrow. Lady on phone was blaming us right off the bat saying she's been licking it and she needs the cone... well she has not licked it at all she's tried to sniff it but tongue has never touched it. Snd she has cone on 90% of the time anyway. And she came back with, "well then its not long enough.." very irritating. The owner and main vet is awesome and very nice, prices are very reasonable, but everyone else who works there is just rude. They should have supplied us with antibiotics to begin with... but they assured it wasn't necessary. This place is 45mins away on a good day where I use to live, maybe its time I find a new vet more local.

I'd definitely look for a new vet or at least mention this attitude to the vet and see if anything changes. If not, I'd start looking. I hope her appt goes well tomorrow.

I can't believe they didn't send you home with at least an antibiotic. Wyatt got a 7 day supply, two pills a day. I don't think his pain meds were needed but I have them to him anyways... I didn't just have surgery and if I did I'd be asking for a morphin drip prob! I was examining Wyatt's incisions and they look pretty good. Dumb me forgot to call vet today, I'm more worried about switching foods! Get well Stella girl!

Update on stella dog, vet said she looks perfectly normal, this morning its hardly red and not as puffy, but figured might as well go anyways. I also had them scan her for her chip just for the hell of it. It works..!
And she gained anothet lb since last week, 33.5lbs, she will be 6 months on the 9th... I'm hoping for atleast 70lbs at the end of her growing, I wanted a larger end of the medium sized dogs. Her dog mom was a decent sized dog, I'd say 70+, dad on the otherhand was a big boy I'd be surprised if he was under 85-90lbs |

Yay!!! She's tiny! Wyatt at almost 7 months is 50 lbs and he was 4th in size of his little of 7. Glad she's doing do. Even with the cone constantly on Wyatt can lick and I think he's kicked the majority of his stitches in his one incision, but it looks great!
