I think that's a little bit rude. Just because someone provides information and an opinion that goes against your own doesn't mean they are ranting. That particular person always backs up their argument with stats and references. To me, that's making an informed and educated decision not ranting and raving...
To each his own.... Hope she comes through it well and that she heals quickly. Last edited by Gypsiemouse; 12-02-2012 at 02:48 PM. |

Every post has something about fixing a pup seems to have an argument against it. I didn't mean it in disrespect, its just she's already in surgery and i don't want anyone telling me i did wrong for my dog. Sorry if it seems rude, just want to make sure i don't hear or read negative input for what i chose for my baby.
I didn't say i disagree with that info, i almost would prefer her not to be fixed, but my area has A LOT of stray dogs roaming my neighborhood and every other house has atleast one dog, and most of them leave them in the front yard 24/7 with only a 3foot fence to keep them in... I'm a little hessitsnt to walk stella at all in my neighborhood. A lot of those dogs seem to be very very mean as we walk by and I'm very ready to do what's neccisary if any of them walk over those little fences. I really appreciate everyone for nice words, I'm sure she will be up and about in no time. Is there anything i should be doing to help her recovery, saftey, or anything else? We got her some pee pads to put down just incase she's too uncomfortable to go outside. I'm guessing she may not want to eat very much? Any input on this would be great! When Logan was neutered he was very whiny and mopey the first night. He didn't want any food. I don't think he knew what he wanted. He'd lay down for a little bit and then get back up and whimper a little bit. When I finally layed down with him he settled down for the night. The next morning he was up bright and early and ready to roll! Spays are more invasive than neuters so I'm sure there'll be some difference for Stella. Finding ways to keep her quiet and entertained will probably be your biggest worry. If you have Kongs you would be smart to stuff and freeze them now to give her something to do once she's up and alert.

Kong doesn't last with frozen peanutbutter she cleans that suckker out in under 3 mins. She loves her moose antler, bit doesn't like the deer and elk one very much for some reason. And she likes bully sticks, not sure how thosr will work with the cone.. how long should they be on for typically?

Pheona was loopy the first night from the meds they gave her. I got pictures of her. She didn't have a cone (my boys would of been calling it the "cone of shame" from the movie Up). We'd take her out on a leash to potty as we were told to keep her calm for the first week or so. There was no keeping her calm. She was itching to do boxer burn outs the next day. She had a normal appetite & everything. When you put PB in the Kongs, do you use regular PB or do you get the kind that they sell for dogs in the pet store??
