"warning: may be too much for some" This is an understatement!!!!

I feel absolutely heart broken. Not for you, but for the horrible pain your poor puppy went through during her final days. She died from neglect, plain and simple. You didnt make just one poor choice, you made many. She died a horrible death, screamed out in pain several times and you chose to take advice from a person who didnt have a freaking clue instead of taking her into a vet that could have saved her life and spared her from DAYS of pain and agony.

Rest in peace sweet Ella. I am so very sorry that you were not given basic medical attention

How sad. That poor little girl. My heart goes out to her. I can't imagine what she went through. I'm sorry I have to agree with "too many dogs" she needed to get to a vet way before she got to the state she was in. And I honestly couldn't even finish reading your post. I'm sure you're upset but it's terrible your dog suffered the way she did. If you didn't have the money to help her you should of at least put her out of her misery. Your friend from the shelter should have known white gums is serious and I don't get the honey thing. I've had ill dogs and my vet or emergency vet has always said if their gums go white to get them back. I don't understand how it wasn't insisted that your dog get treatment. I am really sickened by this story.

I am so so so sorry for your loss. Your story has me in tears right now. I don't even know what to say to help you because there is nothing anyone can say that can take this pain away. I lost my dog 6 years ago and I miss her each and every day. And I almost lost my current fur baby last year due to a massive spinal stroke. The feeling like someone has crushed your heart and you now feel so empty and alone. But know you are never alone. You have all of us here on the forum to support you. I am sorry for your loss, Ella sounded like a wonderful little fur baby.
Always remember the happy times.

I know and understand what you are feeling, I know you did try your best to save your little girl.
I lost my little fur baby girl Laila, just a few weeks ago.
I too was beating myself up as well as the vets who misdiagnosed her.
I did find comfort here on this site, as the people here really do understand, and are the best.

Please don't beat yourself up or anyone else, as accidents do happen and it is possible that she could have ingesting the poison through a dead rat the same way DDT was killing bald eagle before they banned it, basically the eagles were poisoned up the food chain, Farmer sprays for bugs, bugs eat poison, rodents eat bugs and plants and eagles eat rodents. It sounds like what happened here.

Know your Ella is resting in peace, this was just her time.
I pray for you and your family.

Excuse me? HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!! I pray for your heartless soul. I did NOT neglect my dog. I didnt sleep at all. I gave her round the clock care!!! Im a single mom of 3 very young babies. I did what I could to try and save her life. If you dont like it, go somewhere else! I didnt come here to be bashed. You are a horrible person to bash someone who is grieving such a loss. I took the advice of 2 vets and a vet tech who worked in an animal shelter for decades. I'm sorry. But the way 2manydogs said it was completely heartless and I am disgusted ppl like that exist! So I couldnt afford hundreds of dollars.... The local vet would NOT see her to put her down. Sorry you couldnt finish the post but maybe you should. I lost a family member. You know I have lost a child due to early childbirth. He was deemed by advanced medical professionals to be a vegetable and on life support throughout his entire life and my ex husband and I had to decide to take him off life support after fighting for 3 months. SO I guess now I'm a murderer? She was my baby. I did what I could with what info I had from PROFESSIONALS. Sorry if you or anyone else doesnt like it. But I cry a lot because of her passing. I came here to get it out and grieve. So sad people cant just allow someone to do that. I thought the pitbull people were bad but now Ive seen worse. At least you werent as completely disrespectful as the other poster.
