So Duke seems to be shedding a bit more over the last week or so. Is this typically the time of year when Boxers shed? It is starting to get cold out over here.
I've always had GSDs in the past and they always seem to be sheding so I'm not sure about the Boxers. Is this typical? Does it happen at certain times of the year? Thanks for your input. |

Not totally sure. I know both of mine shed but nothing more than usual. Although I had to laugh at some guy at Petsmart te other day. He said it must be nice for us to own dogs that don't shed.

Well, he didn't seem to shed much until the last week or so. I wouldn't say he's shedding a lot, just more than he was before. I've noticed some fur on my black pants whereas I didn't notice any before... I do think it's probably just from the weather change since everything else is normal.

Its been getting much colder here in Ontario this past week. I would assume its just a weather change but would increase fish oil or coconut oil. Perhaps give a nice warm bath and use a rubber curry comb to help remove all those loose hairs

Thanks Kari
As for bathing... last time we tried my husband got 3 deep gashes in his arm from Duke trying to escape. I think we'll just brush and wipe him down with some baby wipes for now. We'll leave the bathing to the groomers who are better equipped to do so than we are! lol I can't wait for summer already. lol |

You can find coconut oil in any health food store and most grocery stores will also carry it as people use it for cooking all the time. I got mine at Loblaws in the center health food section.
