So my boxer pup has been having some issues with the Merrick food she is on. She is waking up 3-5 times per night with the runs. I went on some low fat food the vet gave me and the stool hardened up.
So I decided to switch to Blue Buffalo since I have heard such good things about it. Is there anybody out there on it also? What do you like about it? Will the farts go away? Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

My girls are both on Blue Buffalo. Which kind are you feeding??? Pheona is on lamb & brown rice formula while Murphy is on a grain-free chicken formula. We don't have much of an issue with gas. They have occasional farts but nothing horrid.

My 8 mo old boxer is on bb freedom as well. We tried the orig- grain version- chicken and oatmeal I believe- stools were either pudding or water. Went to the longevity line-which is fish - leaner better food but still has grains - stools got a little better but not much. Finally hit me to try the grain free- freedom- omg! Night and day turn around. The omega fatty acids are high in the food and help his coat- even tho I still give coconut oil $ salmon oil ev day and he gets a raw egg on Fridays. But it's a wonderful food. I would Rec the freedom- grain free line, as well as other foods- Orijen and Acana. Stay away from the royal canin- it is loaded w corn and crap grains and is really a crap food. And the boxer line of it is really jus advertising - so many better foods out there. I love the blue buff tho!

Just curious, did anyone's boxer have horrible gas while transitioning to BB or BB freedom specifically and then it went away after the transition? We're currently transitioning Bruno from Puppy Chow (no we did NOT put him on that he came that way) to BB Freedom Puppy and his stools usually look pretty good but OMG night time cuddle time on the couch is starting to require me to wear a gas mask!

Yes when we were on the blue buffalo reg puppy and also when we were transitioning foods he did have terrible gas. I'd maybe try some plain yogurt or digestive enzymes to help. I would wait it out at this point, because u are transitioning but if later down the road he still has bad gas I would point it as this food is not the food for him and his tummy. But the grain free freedom is a great food so I would just wait it out and see. From going from a terrible food to this good one , it def could be what is doing it. Hopefully when his tummy and body adjusts it will be better
