National lifetime registration database here, $40 neutered, $150 intact, $40 inact with registered breeder, $15 pensioner. Must be done by 6 months of age, no rabies in Australia. they have to be microchipped by 12 weeks or by first sale (8 weeks).
$165 for non registration and/or microchopped the rangers (animal control) will microchip an unchipped animal (dog or cat) and charge $40 to the owner.
It is also a $165 fine for not notifying of change of address or owner.
