Lol, love this thread. We have to spell outside, upstairs, leash and cookie. When the pack is asleep and I want hubby's attention, I'll quietly knock my ring on the table or whatever is closest to hand. Of course, after 20 years of marriage and working together as partners in a maximum security prison, usually a look is all either one of us needs to communicate something.

We spell ride, outside, cookie, and my brothers name Terry. If Mattie hears us say my brothers name she goes nuts waiting and looking for him. They are wrestling buddies and he is the only person that lets her be a "lap dog".

We started to spell Walk when we got Rally and she figured it out, Octane hasn't. So now we say stroll when we don't want them to know. You can't say hungry, breakfast, supper, cookie, car or ride. Otherwise Rally scream crieds for an hour and Octane spins in circle so fast you wonder if he's going to get vertigo.

I don't need to spell anything, yet...
But that is probably cause my husband is mean and asks Sally if she wants to go for a walk then decides he has to go to the toilet, put shoes and socks on, find his phone, find the cricket ball... so she isn't convinced that walk actually means walk... however when I say it in the morning she will drop everything and follow me while I get the lead and treat/poopbag bag. She knows I mean it! |
