Default Do You Have to Spell?

Anybody else have to spell certain words because if you say them the dogs know exactly what you're talking about? We have to spell treat, cheese, outside, toys, ball, walk, hungry, and I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting about right now.

The reason this is being brought up is because all the dogs had just barely finished eating and my mother and I started talking about what we were going to make for dinner. I said "hungry" a little too loudly and all three dogs started smacking their lips and paced for a good 10-15 minutes before getting it through their heads that they were not getting more food! It's so hard to believe how smart these guys are sometimes.

So far I haven't noticed having to spell with Pheona & Murphy. We did always have to spell walk, leash, bye-bye (always added the extra bye when we'd take her in the car) & I'm sure there are others with Maggie. They are smart that is for sure.

Don't have to spell so much with Dixie but With willow I have to spell baby, ball, and toy. And if you say Daddy she goes looking for him. But Dixie goes looking for Willow when I say her name they are both very smart!

cheese and treats are the words to remain unspoken in my home. If you say either...Layla will stand in your face until she gets some.
