November 26.I hope everyone who has pets becomes familiar with this FB page Animal Parents Against Pet Treats Made In China. This letter was on their site:
I just want to warn you & everyone on the page who also may not be aware: I have one of the top vets in the Midwest for my cat(s). He told me yesterday that his new guidance is to tell all clients not to buy any pet bed, toys or food or cat furniture that...is made or manufactured in China. 90% of it all contains toxic chemicals & carcinogens that are VERY HARMFUL to our pets. I had a $200 cat bed given to me as a gift. It was beautiful & luxurious but 5 months after receiving it my cat who was only 10 & otherwise healthy died of lung cancer. I had that cat bed tested & it came back positive this weekend for 7 toxic/dangerous chemicals. Dr. Fox is a National Veterinary column carried in most City's newspapers. He gave the same warning regarding this matter in his column this weekend. China does not have any regulatory oversight of its products like we do here with the FDA, CPSA, DEA etc So they can put basically any horrid chemicals they want in our pet products and we can't stop it. The only way we can protect our pets is to say NO to all food & products made or manufactured in China. You can probably reach the most people with this warning because of your wonderful fb page.

Brian, I agree with this info! I recently bought a pretty fleece throw on sale for $2.99 from our local Rite-Aid store. It was red plaid and festive! I put it on Laney's LR bed for some festive color....My mistake, she broke out in a rash!!! I promptly thru it away! MADE IN CHINA!!!! I will always be mindful of mfg. labels in the future!!
