My husband and I have been talking with a breeder about a white boxer. We already have 2 female dogs at home. Would it be better to bring in a 3rd female or a male? I would like a male but my husband thinks another female would be best. What do you guys think would be best?

Personally, I'd go with a male. I don't think I'd ever own two females. They've been known to get along for years and then once they hit maturity fights can break out. Once they start fighting it's very difficult to keep them from fighting again. It's said that they hold grudges. Of course I'm going strictly by what I've read. I've always had males, Abby is our first female and she's still a puppy.

So cute!!! We currently have 2 females but I don't know if I could add another female in the mix. I sure hope as they both get older that they don't start fighting. If we were to add another pup now, it'd probably be a male. Good luck with your decision.

I would go with a male. My parents have a female boxer and a female bulldog mix.. they don't get a long very well (although they do tolerate each other). Males are a lot less stubborn and more laid back than females. I have a white male boxer ... eek- i want another!! Congrats

I would go with a male an get your females fixed if there not already... You need diff hormones in the group!!
Wr have 2 male dogs an wanted another but our breeder said a female is better because another male will cause dominant issues possibly where a female will straighten(balance) my males out.. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
