How Big will my boxer get

We have a new 4+ month old boxer, Parker, and we love him. He is 36 lb now and seems to be growing daily. His paws are huge so he runs clumsily at times which is quite entertaining. His father was 85lb and Parker looks just like him. Should we expect Parker to grow that big as well? I ask because my research on Boxer size states that Boxer weights are between 55-75lb

I wouldn't put too much weight on the 'big paws' thing. That's pretty much a myth.

There's no way to tell exactly how much Parker will weigh. I would say being 36lbs at 4 months, you can definitely expect that he won't be on the 55lbs end of the spectrum. His weight will start slowing down around 6 months, but he can continue growing well past a year. Callie is a boxer/lab mix so she can't be 100% compared to, but at 6 months she weighed in at 39lbs and at 7 months, 39.9. So right about now she's expected to be around 45lbs at maturity. She's a small girl so I think that's a pretty safe estimate, especially when I compare her to how much my mom's lab weighed at 7 months.

How often are you weighing him? I ask because it'll let you know if he's still gaining pretty quickly. While Callie was still getting her puppy shots, she was being weighed weekly and gaining several pounds a week. She was spayed at 4 months and weighed in at 26lbs. So within two months she gained just over 10lbs. But between 6 and 7 months, she's only gained 1lb and I doubt she'll gain much more by 8 months.

WOW. That is pretty big! Boss is just 4 months old and he weighs about 25 pounds. Buddha was about 20lbs at 4 months and now at 7months old he is 45lbs+ (maybe more). They are suppose to grow up untill about 1 year and then fiill out untill about 18months - 2 years old. Good Luck!

Murphy was weighed at the vet 3 weeks ago and he was just under 3 months and he was 20.5 lbs

At 4 months Lucy weighed around 30lbs. now Lucy is almost 9 months old and weighs about 65lbs, she is a rescue so we don't know how big her parents are, so her adult size is going to be a surprise!

My Murphy at last weigh in last week was 30 pounds. She is just over 4 months. She be getting weighed again on Thursday when she goes back for her next shot.

Moxie was last weighed at 6 months and she was 41 lbs. I believe she was about 33 at 4 months.

Tank is 10 months and weighs 80 pounds.
His mother Izzy is 3 and weighs 84 pounds.
LeiCee is 6 and is 65 pounds.
Dozer, Tank's little brother, is 12 weeks old and weighs 22 pounds.
Mia, the runt and Dozer's litter mate weighs 14.

If more is truly better that makes my four legged kids better than your two legged ones.
