Just courious...how many times do you guys bathe your babies? Do they like it? What kind of shampoo?
Jaxon and Belah LOVEEEEEEEE to take baths. They try to jump in when me or my husband are in there. I don't really like the shampoo I am currently using b/c it doesn't keep them smelling good very long. I have tried many different ones and none seem to help. They don't have any allergies or sensitive skin so we can use anything. But I was wondering what most of you use? Is there something AWESOME out there we just haven't found yet? |

Wyatt would shower with everyone everyday if I/we let him. I usually give him a bath every two weeks... This may sound crazy, but I bathe him when I wash my sheets. Something about having a clean pup on clean sheets just makes sense to me. He doesn't smell and isn't really getting dirty since he's not outside too much bc of the weather... So I'll prob start doing once a month in the colder months. He got neutered 2 weeks ago today and I'm itching to give him a bath!!!! I use sergeants fur so fresh dog shampoo for puppies. The scent is puppy fresh and kinda smells like baby wash! We also have natures miracle for the other dog who gets a bath like twice a year...

I bathe mine every month or two. They normally don't smell and if Maggie gets her feet muddy, I just wash them. I agree about wanting to wash them when washing the sheets. Lol. I don't always do it, but I feel so much better when I do. I also usually can't go to bed on clean sheets unless I shower. Lol
I really like Espree tea tree and aloe medicated shampoo. Even if they aren't itchy, it makes them smell sooooo good. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

Is there a "general timeframe" that we should wait before baithing them? How often is "too often". They don't stink...they just don't smell good. I caught my husband squirting some of his AXE on Jaxon...and although he smelt SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good I almost couldn't let go...Im sure its not the best thing to do. He wants to bathe them once a week. Of course we don't, because I read somewhere not to do it too often. So I find myself baithing them once every other week or once every 2 weeks.

You can bathe them as often as you want as long as they are not drying out....
Just keep in mind, when you do bathe them you are removing all the natural oils from their skin and fur... so just keep an eye out for any dryness. I give Bos a bath whenever he starts to smell like a dog or stale or if he's actually dirty. He does like the hot water of the shower though so sometimes he pops himself in and sits under the water. Talk about a lack of privacy! |

I bathe Lucy when she needs it about every month or so, sometimes she needs an emergency bath like when she got peed on at the dog park the other day
. I use a oatmeal shampoo thats sulfate free it makes her smell like baby powder! I wish Lucy loved baths like your dogs, she hates them! it's because she had to have medicated "dips" for mange it's was like giving her a toxic smelling sponge bath .

I bath Sally once a week, It keeps the shedding hair under control, and She seems to enjoy the play of a bath.
she will join me or my husband in the shower when she feels she needs a wash, but she doesn't stay in long so it is a two person job, one in the shower and one to catch her with a towel out of the shower (or direct her outside so she shakes out there) I have had to take her outside in the nud before, good thing I have plants and sheds all around my yard it the neighbours might have gotten a fright.

I only need to bathe Rosco once a month or less bc he spends his days indoors due to our fence problem and he doesn't like to be alone out there. So yeah, he doesn't like bath time but he manages. I use mane and tail conditioner!!! 0

Jaxon has been bathed in the shower since I first brought him home. Baylee started when I got her. I have to fight my way to the shower without them. LOL it's quite funny. I don't bathe them much maybe every month or 2. When they get that stink that smells up my room. In the summer they stay in the pool most of the time so I dont have to bathe them at all for the most part.

Mine don't get baths very often.
They don't like getting wet ( don't like to go out when it's raining, Maggie doesn't even like to step on wet grass-lol ) But they stay surprisingly clean . |
