Ok so I need some input here. My female boxer ( 8 months old) had her ears cropped at about 12 weeks old. Both ears now stand great except one has started to curl backwards at the top. Just a little , but enuff for it to drive me crazy! Currently I am shaving the inside of the ear and placing breathe rite strips on the ear to straighten it out. This seems to be a slow process. Is there anything else I can do to get this little curl at the top of her ear to go away? Does the actual taping and folding of the ear help or is it as long as the ear is being held in the upright position , then that is sufficent? the breathe rite strip takes the curl away but do I need to still tape the ear? You can see pics of her ear on my wall or album. Thanks for the input!!! -Joshua-

No clue, but to save money use black electrical tape! I think after they are done teething is when you can no longer shape the ear??? Although I believe some people have taped ears for months to a year to get the desired look...

Wyatts_Momma, his dogs ears are cropped. They are taped totally different than you would for a natural ear. All 3 of my dogs have a slight curl to the ear tips, it doesnt bother me so I just leave it. They are all over the age of 2 so I doubt I can correct them.
If I were you I would re-post that ear.

I've heard of taping both tips together backwards (kind of hard to describe) when the ear is tipping front. You could probably do the reverse for backwards.
Her cartilage is probably still hardening also. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |
