She should have had the vet papers changed... My GSD mix has never been listed as a GSD mix on anything for that very reason... She's listed as Border Collie/Lab mix so no one can discriminate against her...

It's sooo sad. I wish people would undrestand that it's the owners, not the dog!!!! Especially on a military post. And I'll never understand it cuz the military uses GSD's and a few of the other breeds on that list for military work!!! Floors me! Your own service members put their lives in these dogs hands and you trust these dogs to do VERY tough jobs but not be a pet?! SEriously?!

Oh and that's also another reason why my fiance and I have agreed to NEVER live on base!!! We don't want no part of all the rules of living on base!

It's terrible. I really disagree with these bans so many innocent dogs suffer for it and it only harms responsible dog owners..irresponsible ones don't care so the ban really is targeting the innocent.

The reason the list keeps growing is because they ban these dogs so the irresponsible owners just get different breeds and the same crap happens.

I suggested to her to go change the records or even do a DNA test on him. He looks nothing of a GSD. She had no clue GSD's were on the list either.

My vet hadisyed Winnie's age as 7 when they are the ones that estimated his age as likely 11 or more. It's just a computer entry. Means nothing. Have it changed. Also you can get a DNA test from the catalog in the company of dogs. I'd do it but keep the results under my hat unless it didn't show any of the listed breeds.

Virginia is 1 of 11 states that prohibit their municipalities from passing breed specific laws.
I am not so sure it is legal for the housing development to create or enforce such nonsense. I would call a few state agencies in regard to that.
