Boxers and clothing.......

Well Petsmart had one pair of boots & they didn't fit Pheona (to big). They had disposable booties but like my husband said....one boxer burn & those are done. While we were there I tried a really nice jacket on her. She could care less that I put it on her. We walked around like that for a little bit. Hubby says it's not cold enough down here to get them a coat. Our instructor was there tonight & she said Pheona was doing great with leaving it alone. Especially having never worn a sweater/jacket before.

I had started with a harness then a thunder shirt then graduated to his "hoody". One part goes over his head then there's a strap that goes around his belly. I think he likes it bc it reminds him of the thunder shirt.

Cruz was 9 months when we rescued him. He had never worn anything other than a collar (that was too small for him )
Now he has a wardrobe that anyone would envy lol. He tried to pull at his first sweater for like 30 seconds then just forgot about it lol. He even let me put booties on him cause when we first picked him up he had a bad cut on one if his pads... The salt would hurt him so we put booties on. He got so used to it he'd hold his leg up for me to put it on before we went out lol

He'll even wear a hat for a treat lol

We have the same type of coat for Karma. When we bought it a couple months ago it was a bit big and still is. I think we bought a large. Shes not done growing yet so it should fit for awhile.

We take her to the store to fit them properly. Most pet stores allow you to bring your pet in. I've even brought one of my bearded dragons into petsmart.

My suggestion would be to reinforce your training and put the coat on during training. Remember to reward your dog. Let him wear it for a cpl minutes and reward and take it off. Keep increasing the time and try taking him out for a quick potty with it on. Let him associate the coat with good things and he will eventually see it as a fun time, and we all know our boxers live for fun!

I agree. I started him out young, don't have the picture on this phone but now he will even wear his superhero outfit!!! :0
