We are hoping to get our next foster transported to us (from Austin to SA) this weekend. He's about 3, has demodex and was the victim of DOG FLIPPERS?!!? I guess I'm pretty naive because I had never heard of such a thing. I can't wait to give this baby some TLC! Here is his link:

Apparently, it's someone who gets a dog for cheap or even free, cleans it up, fakes papers & resells it for a considerable profit. Not sure how they would fake papers, though. As soon as the buyer tried to transfer ownership, they'd get a big surprise. Although, I guess the crooks don't care! This dog ended somehow up in Animal Care Services after it was flipped. There was a LONG Craigslist plight on this poor guy. The "flipper" was even trying to get the dog back & someone else (warning others not to buy) posted the flipper's original add with pics stating the dog had papers, complete with champion bloodlines. Ugh!!!

I've never heard of that either. Jill, I think it's wonderful what you are doing. I think I've seen him on that site as I usually go on looking. I can't wait till we have our forever home so I can start fostering.

Yes thats a huge thing on sites such as Craigslist. Thats why I go to Craigslist several times a day to flag people. Ugh it something that happens more then you think.
Im so glad you are fostering that poor baby. When do you get him?

Yes this weekend must seem like a long time when you think what that poor baby has been through. Thank you SO much for taking him! Keep us posted on how he is doing when you can

Fostering is such an awarding experience. I used to foster small dogs... 20-30 pounds. I've thought of fostering a small boxer. I worry about dog fights and not being able to split them. I never had a fight while fostering but smaller dogs seem easier to grab. How long do your fosters usually stay with you? Maybe I can look at doing this while I wait for my pup. I wouldn't be able to start until march. I'd love to hear about your experiences though.
