Default Beef knuckle for boxers?

Hi

Ok, stupid question time!!!!

I gave Ricki roast beef knuckle from the pet shop today to keep him occupied whilst I went out.

Is it ok for him? It looks to me like the bones crumble, can he swallow them? I've just taken it all away from him just in case.

Can any one help?

Thanks

Liz

Stay away from these treats. Cooked bones are dangerous and can splinter. Feeding knuckles Raw is much safer.

Is the bone cooked? If so then it's a no no, otherwise it's fine.

Liz, just buy the same bones at the grocery store and give them to him raw. He will like them just as much if not better

Ok will do!

This is probably another silly question....

If they are dangerous then why do the pet stores sell them?

I buy them for Wyatt. They are sterilized...is this the same as being cooked? And they don't splinter at all.

I won't buy cooked knuckles from the pet stores because they tend to splinter. However, my local meat market sells slow smoked knuckles.. They never splinter, they crumble into small pieces..... I feel they are safe and give them, but they are the only cooked bone I'll give.
