My wife and son wanted to go get something to eat and I stayed home. About a 1/2 hr later some guy is knocking on my door asking me if I had a boxer I had told him yes I had one but he passed away some time ago. He told me that he had asked around the area we lived in and everyone pointed him to my house I guess my Russell was well known in my area lmao anyways he had found this boxer running around and picked him up and then shows up at my house when I went to go see the boxer in his car his the boxer got so happy to see me like if I was his dad he started doing that boxer dance so I tell the guy that I am sorry but he is not mine but told him if he could not watch him I would take him until we both find his owner. It felt so good having a boxer around the house my wife was very happy and my son was happy as well next day my wife went to the vet up the street and the boxer did not have a chip in him so she went to the pound in the next town over and as she was leaving the owner of the boxer walks in and tells my wife what a good looking dog she tell him thanks but it was not ours she found him he tells her that he thinks its his dog so he call out the boxers name and with no response from the boxer he calls his name again and ziggy turns to him my wife make him show her a photo of the dog he had in his car and checks the guys address and comes to find out its his dog. Jan 3,2013 my wife comes home around 11am and closes the fence and guess who comes around the corner to say he is back to say hi to us yes the same boxer he found his way back to my house my wife was like what the and was so happy that this dog came back but she knew she had to take him back home and that's what she did. But we both know that we need to get a boxer now so bad we have waited long enough and having a boxer in our house is a must that is our goal to have one by the end of the month

I would like to maybe adopt one but would love to have a puppy but adopting might be better at his time for me and my family

Sounds to me like that boxer is not properly looked after if he keeps escaping from his home. Perhaps you could ask the current owner if he would like to part with his dog?

I agree with ^^ Kari as the dog is getting out somehow and seems to come straight to your house and must sense something about your family.. I'd talk with the owner too about the situation.

By all means, ask the owner if he can part with the boxer. I think he likes your family alot better than his current owner!

I agree with the above. Apparently the owner isn't keeping a watchful eye on their pup. I wish you the best of luck.
