I have been wanting to get another boxer for a little while now. I have a 4 year old female now. My question is this, she has been the only dog for a while now and is insanely spoiled, she also loves to chew things up when we leave her alone, would getting another one keep her from being lonely or would it create a jealousy problem?

Yes it would help her from being lonely. 2 are better then one..LOL The chewing problem can be fixed by crating her if you arent already.
When you choose the new boxer have them meet first. Take it very slow and do it on a neutral ground. As for jealousy, it doesn;t always mean bad things. My Jaxon hates me loving on Baylee but all he does is grumble and whine and try to push her out of the way. I correct the behavior each time. But he still does it. With people, dogs anything that wants my attention even if he isn't wanting it right then. Good luck and check into rescue please. |

I agree with the others. My two love each other and are often together. Jasper acts a bit jealous at times, but that means that he barks and tries to muscle his way in (which he also does when my husband and I hug each other). He doesn't do anything to Lexi, and he's quite concerned for her whenever we're at the vet and they're examining her. They love to play together and I love watching them play - makes me laugh, and after watching them together I realized that I was no match for a boxer companion when it comes to playing with either of them.
I don't know a lot about this as I have a male and a female, but some people have cautioned against having two females together (though some have had females together and be completely fine). |
