Not just ANY harness though! Logan has a vet appointment on Saturday and I just remembered that I never bought him a new harness. He outgrew the harness that he was originally using. Now I need to scramble to try to find one that fits because I prefer to use a harness over a collar. I don't like the thought of them being able to slip out of collars so easily and I'm concerned if there are other dogs at the vets that's exactly what'll happen. So I was talking to my mother about it and she suggested just using Riley's old harness (I keep all collars, leashes, harnesses, etc). Riley was a very big boy so I know his harness would fit Logan easily, but it was Riley's harness! I just can't stand the thought of putting his harness on Logan - not even just this one time! I don't know why, but it bothers me to think about it. It makes me feel weird thinking about it. Riley was my special boy, but Logan is also very special to me too. It shouldn't make a difference if I put Riley's harness on him, but I just can't do it. Do you think that's a bit on the weird side? Be honest!

OK I do! lol But I don't attach feelings to objects (not even the baby clothes my girls wore). However, I know a lot of people who do. So really I don't think it's weird, I just don't have those types of feelings with objects. lol And I can understand how some people do

I can understand.... I have a collar from my first golden.. and when I got our new golden and even with my boxer, I couldn't put it on them. My husband thinks I am crazy because I love it and I haven't been able to find another like it. So I understand how you feel. But it belonged to Dakota and I just cant . I agree with the other post.... do what makes you feel comfortable. No right or wrong for that one!

I dont think its weird. I do the same thing with my girls and their collars. Destiny doesnt wear Karma's that she's outgrown even though they are nice enough to use again. To me it doesnt feel right either.

I don't think you are weird. Maggie's collar will never be worn by another animal in my house. The day we came home after we helped Maggie cross the bridge, I carried her collar around with me. Even slept with it that night. It is now hanging on the corner of our TV in the living room. I think it will always hang on the TV & if/when we move from this place, I will be taking her collar with me in my car. No way would I let the packers put it in a box.

It's not weird, I keep my other dog's collar in a ceramic heart shaped case on my dresser...it still smells like her. The collar was hers and I loved how it looked on her it was a part of her, something she wore everyday for years, so by keeping it I kinda feel like a have a piece of her in someway.

People are different. Winnie's collar with tags will never be worn. On the other hand his ortho bed is being used by porter. My husband wanted to throw everything out. Didn't want to see it. We compromised....I saved the bed, put the collar away, bagged up everything else and donated it including the stairs Winnie used to get on the bed.
