Loose dogs scare the crap out of me! Seriously, it's my worst fear when I am out with the dogs AND by myself! Doesn't help Reeko is leash reactive sometimes so that makes it even worse.
I am so glad Georgie is going to be ok! And your neighbor. |

I was riding Baylee on her tow leash on the bike yesterday when I heard a very low bark at a home that doesn't have any dogs. Looked up and there is this HUGE Weimeraner(sp) and he was loose. He looked to be a puppy but I was nervous. Baylee is very protective and she was aving a hard time riding past this dog. I yelled...*leave it!!!* and the dog stopped. it was funny. But we got by with no further problems.

Just seen the results of a dog attack today... Sorry you and your neighbour had to go though that!
I am glad her injuries were mostly superficial. I think I have to look into getting some pepper spray or something I do a lot of walking Sally on my own in the morning or evening, and Sally would SO expect a dog coming up to want to play. and she is getting big enough that I can struggle to stop her if she REALLY wants to go somewhere. I hope Georgie has no lasting injuries physical or psychological. |

Hi... Thank you all for the concerns with Georgie and good wishes!!! Se is doing OK. I took her back to the vet yesterday and she looks to be healing well. The neck wound, especially... But she had serious bruising and an open wound in her belly/groin area that looks horrible! The vet said she'll be fine, but to keep an eye on all the wounds (naturally). I have to clean them twice a day with an antiseptic they gave me. But she is pretty much back to her playful self!
To answer some of the questions (I hope I remember them all). Georgie seems ok with other dogs (so far). She was friendly with the ones at the vet and my next door neighbors dog. I haven't tried to walk her yet but maybe tomorrow. I'm just letting her play in the backyard! I'm kind I scared to walk, to be honest! The attack dog was found and brought to the shelter. It was chipped and the owner was contacted but the dog has not been picked up yet!! (Doesn't say much for the owners!!!!). Her wounds look bad, but since she's darker, they don't stand out too bad! Her belly/groin looks the worst!! Prob bc she is smooth there and nofur to cover it up! And she just has several bumps and bruises all over. Her legs, her face (chin and forehead), and the back of her neck are all cut up! Se was shaved on her neck so that looks bad, but better than it did on Thursday! She's resting on my lap now!!! (Which is why I'm finally able to reply here-lol). I feel so bad for her. She's so sweet and innocent and I hope this doesn't affect her in a negative way!! But so far, she seems to be acting the same!! It's been a loooong couple of days but she's doing good as se can!! And she doesn't seem to be in too much pain! She's not limping too much anymore either and the swelling in her leg went down!! Thanks again!! I've been spoiling Georgie with (gentle) hugs and kisses!!!
