She's OK, but Georgie got attacked by another dog today... :(

I hope Georgie continues to do well and makes a full recovery! If you feel the need/believe this type of incident may occur again the maybe you should carry a container of pepper spray. I live out in the sticks of Virginia with neighbors that let the animals roam....especially after 5:00pm when our local Animal Control Officer goes home for the day! I have several elderly neighbors that carry long sticks when the walk because of this. In fact one of my neighbors lets his dog "loose"... He says "my dog doesn't BITE!" I wish you the best!!

Haven't been on here in ages it feels like. Just saw the thread. Glad to read Georgi is doing well.

If you're ever looking for a boxer only play date I could always meet up with my two maniacs. They're absolutely bonkers lately but nothing but excited love. Best wishes for Georgi and wishing no adverse effects because of the attack.

Georgie is absolutely bonkers sometimes, too!!! We should definitely meet up once the weather gets warmer!!! There are a few other LI'ers on here, too!!

Georgie has been pretty much herself since shortly after the attack... . I,still haven't brought her to the dog park, but hopefully soon (weather permitting). She will have a few physical scars, but I think her fur might cover most of them once its completely grown back... I still get sad when I see them bc it reminds me of what happened!! I feel,so bad for her bc she just wanted to play and be friendly...

But,I am so thankful it wasn't any worse!!!

Unfortunately, the owner of the dog completely abandoned the dog and failed to pick,it up or own up to anything. Therefore, the dog was euthanized! While I know that it harmed my dog and a human being, I feel the owner is largely to blame as well. The dog was out loose, with no collar or anything... and then he never even acknowledged the dog after being contacted several times by the town shelter!! i hope this guy is never allowed to own another pet ever again!! He let his dog sit in a shelter for 2 weeks and took no,responsibility whatsoever!! It makes me sad for the dog, regardless of what it did... Anyway, I could go on and on about it... Haha!

I'm just glad Georgie is ok and I hope she is ok once she is around strange dogs again... (I think she will be!!)... Thanks to everyone for all their care and concern!!! Georgie loved all the caring messages (and me, too)...
