Hey everyone,
I noticed yesterday that Duke's head is quite a bit taller than his crate. I'm not sure of the exact dimensions but when he stands in it he has to keep his head down and his back is pretty much touching the top of the crate. I think we need to get a bigger crate. DH thinks it is fine. I feel bad enough leaving him home alone and now this. What is your opinion on this? He is 7 months old so I think he still has some growing to do! But I'm not sure if he's going to get much taller... I just want him to be comfy and able to get up and stretch and change positions comfortably. |

He can stand up and turn around with his head lowered... but if he grows another inch his back will be hitting the top of the crate when he stands. I found a crate that is 30" tall on craigslist for $30! I think that will be more comfortable for him. I think the one that we have is 24" tall.

hee hee yes he is at that leggy stage. def get the larger crate - 30.00 is a good deal. He needs enough room to stand up, turn around and sit. I have 2 crates in my kitchen...48"L x 30"W x 33"H

The crate that I have is 46"L x 30"W x 33"H (XX Large). Daisy and Duke share this crate and they are very comfortable in it. I got one that was big enough for a Great Dane since I have 2. So maybe one size down is good. The one that is recommended for boxer is the 42"L x 28"W x 31"H. So maybe you need to go one size bigger.
