so we are going to be building a new house soon and with this new house we were going to build a dog run for our boxer. i got to thinking that a fenced in area would be better that way he could have more room to run and didnt feel as trapped i guess you could say. i was wondering what everyone else thought was the best type of fence for a boxer. i was thinking about a 6 to 8 foot chain link then i started thinking a privacy fence. i want something that he cant climb out of or jump over this area would also be for our kids so have to keep that in mind also something they cant get out of either by opening a gate

I'm a fab of solid privacy fencing. I have a 6 ft dog eared wood. As for height, personally I'd go as high as your town's code restrictions allow. If I could I'd have an 8 ft. I like my privacy.

I am also in the country, I have my 3 acres fenced with what we call sheep wire. It's great for the dogs because they can't get out but they can still see who or what is going on outside the wire. Also no animals can get in.

Mine is 5 feet and I have two gates in it, they are both wire gates but you could put in wooden gates. The thing I love about this type of wire is as I said no other animals can get into it. We have a lot of coyotes out here and I definitely don't want them getting into my yard.

Nice fencing for the country. I'm trying to not see my neighbors I actually have one side with a split rail and chicken wire on the side with my elderly quiet neighbors.

Guess that depends on if your dogs are jumpers, and your preference in general and cost considerations.
Part of our fence is 6 foot wooden stockade type privacy fencing and the rest is 5 foot high black chain link. |
