My 16-week old male Boxer puppy occasionally makes a noise that sounds identical to a higher pitched Chewbacca. I think it is his "something hurts" sound. The 1st time I heard it he fell off the couch. The second time he was running full out and slipped on the laminate and tonight, the third time, he was limping with his right rear foot. I think he was limping due to it being 0 degrees out and his feet were freezing. We were out just a little longer than usual (about 3 minutes, if that) because I know he has to poop, but he didn't go.
The noise is hilarious, but because I am fairly certain he is hurt when it makes it I hate to hear it. Has anyone ever heard their Boxer make a similar sound? |

Sally does it when she is playing, when she is loving her hippo farting toy, when she is cranky cause we won't let her bite our toes, when she wants something, when she is playing with a toy that is maiking her happy or cranky, when she is chewing a bone/piece of frozen meat/hide chew... etc etc....
I love it! I am trying to teach her to do it on command, this isn't working so well though! When something is hurting Sally she does a cranky/angry chewbucca noise (if it is a prickle or stick that has poked her or yelps if it is something sudden). Good luck learning what your pup's noises all mean! |

It's called the Boxer "woo-woo" song LOL! They do that when they are in a playful mood or trying to start play. Well this is what mine do anyway. When they are hurt, they whine or their demeanor changes. This and the Kidney Bean are traits that I love in the Boxer. I have not seen it in any other breed. It's like they are trying to talk and communicate but the sound is coming out like "woo-woo", sometimes they do it because they are annoyed about something. It's so cute....it makes me crack up every time. Look up "Boxer Woo-Woo" on Youtube and you will see several videos with Boxers doing the sound.
