Default my dog ate a taco with onions n hot sauce

my kratos ate about a 1/4 of a taco truck taco and it had onions n hot sauce on it.. he was fine until about 40 mind ago he wouldnt go to bed, he would just stand in the hall way and when i made him come in the room he would wine and wine.. i took him out and he would just stand at the door. brought him back in and same thing.. i now have him in the bathroom and hes good for a bit then wines.. ive tried taking him out but he does the same things! this time he acted as if he was going to vomit, i think he did but swallowed it.

at first i thought he was trying to alert us something wasnt right outside because he would stand by the front door and when we took him outside he would walk to the gate by the front of the house ( which he does if someones there) and i woke up my hubby and told him somethings not right and he agreed went and checked out front and back found nothing.. as we were laying in bed he remembered he ate that taco and now im freaking out! lol i dont think there was that much onion to harm him but idk-- he also drank some of my sons milk that got spilt-- idk if that is good or bad.. he could just have an upset tummy from all this un normal food today..

any advice?

i read about peroxide ro induce vomitting but unsure and i dont wanna give it to him and it not be the right amount of good for him.

....... strange ..... i am in my living room with him and hes sleeping in here like nothing.. no whining nada! either hes over it or he wanted to sleep in here ?!?!?

am i being paranoid now?!?

Unless he ate it within a couple hours I would forget inducing vomit. I'm not sure how much hot sauce is toxic. The hot sauce can't be doing him any favors either. Go on line to ASPCA website. There is a poison control hotline number. It will cost u about 6o bucks but it might be worth your peace of mind if he is acting sick.

Did he eat the taco on accident or did someone feed to him? What else was in the taco? I doubt it was only onions, there was probably garlic and some spices in the taco. This is why I do not feed any of my dogs human food and anyone that comes over knows that they are not allowed human/table food. He may have an upset tummy from the Onions and sauce. Onions is one of the foods that can be very toxic to dogs but it depends on how much he ingested and depending on the ingredients in the hotsauce, it may have included some other toxic ingredients. He may have a bit of heartburn. I almost wish he vomited to get out the toxin. Call the ER or your vet and get some input. Ask them if giving him Pepcid AC or Pepto-Bismol would help settle his tummy. Boxers have very sensitive tummies I would avoid feeding him any sort of human food or you will have issues down the line. If he is not better today. Please take him to your vet or ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center -- 888-426-4435

Yup, probably just upset stomach - maybe heartburn from the hot sauce! Hopefully he feels better today.

I'm not sure as to the amount, but onions are toxic to dogs.

I'm sure the hot sauce will give him an upset tummy for awhile. Hope he feels better soon.

Oh and dogs are not good with milk products. They are lactose intolerant. Dogs are true carnivores....

Default my dog ate a taco with onions n hot sauce

thank you all for your replies! much appreciated.

he ate all this on accident-- my son dropped his cup and before i knew it kratos was licking it up and my precious little guy (20months) gave him the taco he always tries to feed him his snacks because he sees me giving him treats and teaching him tricks so he walks around mimicking me :/

i knew onions were not good for dogs as well as some of the other stuff..

when i posted it was within a couple hours since he had ate it, but i didnt know how much to give him.

thanks for the numbers! i really appreciate that- i have them posted on my fridge now... the only vet thats 24 hrs is a large animal hospital :/

as of today he is goos his normal self. he did throw up once. but other the. that he seems okay, he ate drank and seems fine -- made appt with the vet
