Man I hate it when my boxers get blamed for the actions of the one up the street from me. It happened again (4th time in a year). I was walking my female (Sierra) when a guy and his tiny dog stopped me and told me my dog got loose yesterday and attacked him and his dog. I let him know that both of my boxers are indoor dogs and are never out of the house without me. I also let him know where the "problem" boxer lives. That was easy because we were standing in front of the owners house.
This has happened 4 times in the last year. One time a lady pulled her car over while I was walking to let me know that my boxer had attacked her while she was jogging and that she maced him. Again, I gave her the address of the only other boxer in the neighborhood. Another lady stopped her car and told me that one of my boxers killed her cat. As usual, I just gave her the address of the owner. He gets loose a lot. He did try to get aggressive with me one day but luckily I was walking my male (Cochise) and I don't think that I was ever in any danger. While Cochise is very friendly, he is also very large and imposing. I wouldn't be surprised if these people think that I am lying to them. I have that kind of face |

Wow. That sucks. Have you considered reporting the neighbor who is being irresponsible with his boxer? Sounds like he shouldn't be letting him outside if he can jump the fence. It also sounds like he isn't getting the socialization he needs. Boxers are very protective of their people, but not when they aren't being provoked. Sounds like the owner is teaching some bad behavior.
You should rescue him from the bad home and show him a good one. Sent from Petguide.com Free App

That's a shame. I would be furious too. My not-so-good idea was, dye your dog a different color lol. "Oh sir, your dog attacked me yesterday" and you say "well no you see my dog is purple!" And you point at your dog..."see? purple as a grape!" Lol. But I like the idea of showing the troubled dog a good home much better lol

I think you need to start protecting your dogs reputation.
Are your dogs microchipped? I would do this asap and register your dogs with your local Boxer Club. Even contact your local town office to let them know there is clearly a mix up. Your dogs are not this particular dog. If your dogs have been trained in any training classes, keep records and even consider getting the Good Canine Citizen card to show they have been tested and trained. Start protecting their reputations. Get copies of all vaccination records of your dogs and even get references from Vets, the dog kennel you frequent, dog walkers you use and anyone who knows your dogs outside of this neighborhood. And if you can befriend any of your neighbors tell anyone an everyone about how great your dogs are. Actions speak louder than words and so show your neighbors how well mannered your dogs are. Because all it takes is for the owner of the dead cat to start pointing fingers at your dog and to put in an official documented legal complaint about one of your dogs to make things horrible for you.
