Default white dog in the sun

Our dog is white and tan, and pink all over. I've read about putting sunscreen on the dog if he was going to be out for very long. I was just wondering, with our dog, his muzzle and nose is almost all pink. How would I apply sunscreen to that area?

Carefully, lol. I've bred several white puppies and none of our clients place sunscreen on them. Does your dog live in your home?

He lives indoor, but had him outside all day and it was pretty sunny.
Is there a particular type...I just have a feeling that he'll lick it off, or try rubbing it off.

You can find a dog friendly sunscreen at most "Pet Stores." And of course when outdoors he has to be able to get out of the sun. But Struddell was my White Boxer and she used to get to run and play in the High Desert of NV in 90 degree temps chasing Jack Rabbits. She never caught one but it was fun to watch her try!

The bunnies would always try and burn her off on the straights and that never worked, she could close within a Boxer or two length of them. Then they would cut hard into the brush and she was still on them! And then they would almost immediately come back on the straight and off they'd go ... "Boxer free!"

That pretty much always worked! She just never caught onto that trick?? I'd watch the Jack Rabbit sail away and Struddell would be circling the brush trying to pick up the scent. But back on point Struddell never had any issues with sunburn.

I never used sunscreen on my white boy, but I think I read it's better to use sunscreen designed for human babies vs dogs because it's more strictly regulated as far as ingredients go. And yes, he will probably try and lick it off
