i few weeks ago tess got this little spot under her chin and we thought that maybe its was just from playing rough or something and waited to see what happened and since then it got bigger and now she has them all over under her chin, they are kinda pink and look all dry and there is no hair where the spots are.... here arre some pics we tried the best we could and getting close ups but it was kinda hard , thanks for any advice on what this could be

Jax is kinda like that too. Almost like zits. When he was at the vets, they said we can wipe it with cleaning pads, used for zits. Like oxy 10, but not that specific one. They also told us it happens when the food and water dishes are not cleaned so well. We have been cleaning out his water dish much better and it has helped. All that slobber is irritating, even to them, lol.

her dishes are stainless steel, they dont really look like zits, but i know what you mean dozer had those on his chest once they kinda looked like white heads.... but these things on tess are like weird dry patches so im kinda scared that oxy pads would dry them out even more...

Boxer_Love... yeah i havent been on in a few weeks i was all busy with the holidays and then i just got back from visiting my grandparents

Zulu had this before and i posted about it. Sharon recommended using Oxy pads on them as it might have been a form of acne. . . .it was all gone and cleared up in a bout a week and hasnt ever come back again, Zulu gets Oxy padded once a week now. . .Sharon is the best!!!!!!!!

Just normal human Oxy pads, the plain type, the others that live in the US might be able to tell you which ones they use.

Whether the dishes are stainless steel or not, does not protect them from getting 'slobber" film on them, lol. Just a thought. I thought Jax's dishes were clean, until I really looked at them. At any rate, good luck, hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

Meghan, a couple things..I see you live in Denver, and so I am assuming your dealing with snow/ice. Does Tess play rough outside..like bury her head into the snow, or push toys around?? The reason I ask is because looking at those spots in the second puicture, the hair loss is all on raised areas on her chin..like she dragged her mush against something ( icy patches?? ). I had 3 of my Boxers while in Minnesota, and on occasion they would get those spots, and sometimes they would even bleed if I allowed them too much outsidetime in the cold.
I know your probably worried too about mange ( seems to be a pretty common issue for alot of the babies on the board! ) When Ashley started her D-Mange..it was one spot, and I could actualy see bumps on the tissue, which soon turned black, and the hair would then fall off. She did a WHOLE lot of rubbing of her face too, so I don't know if that is whats going on, but of course you'd have to take her for a scraping to determine that.
I just wanted to let you know though, I went through that most winters with a few of my babies, and just had to restrict too much outside time.
I hope you get an answer soon!

Zulus looked just like bald red patches so i was also surprised that it was acne caus it didnt look at all like it, hope you find out what it is soon. But give the Oxy pads a try and see if it makes a difference and give that gorgeous girl a big get well hug from us >< ><

thanks for all the replys!!! were gonna go get some of those oxy pads and give them a try for a week or two and if they dont get any better then were off to the vet to get a skin scrape.... i dont really think that she puts her face in the snow/ice when she is playing outside she more just does boxer burn type play out there.... but i will let you guys know what we find out and ill definately keep a closer eye on how she plays outside to see if she does do that and i just dont realize it
