Default Orange Stool?

Has anyone experienced orange mucusy stool before? Cassius has been sick since last Thursday. I thought it was his food because we were trying a transition to a new food. Thursday and Friday he had diarrhea. We started him on chick and rice Thursday dinner. Saturday morning he vomited up breakfast. Then starting yesterday and then today his stool has been orange with a quite a bit of mucus. We have a vet appt for this morning but anyone ever experience this?

Sorry hope Cassius is feeling better soon, I know that some foods change the color of the stool. When I adopted Keegan, his foster mom was feeding him a food that made his pooh a funny color but don't remember what it was.

The only time I ever had orange stool was when Keegan got in the cupboard and ate the cheese mix from a mac and cheese box

Some dogs are incredibly sensitive to food changes - even if you are upgrading to a better food. Sometimes their digestive system won't tolerate any change at all.

I thought it might be the food change but we did it super gradually, over the course of 6or 7 weeks and we're still not 100% switched. Plus he's had nothing but chix and rice since Thursday night and that will usually fix him up in a day or two but it's now been 5 days which is why we're going to the vet in an hour or so.

Could it be an allergic reaction to something in the new food? Im not sure if it would affect the color of his stool or not?

Hope everything turns out to be OK ><

It sounds a bit like Gastroenteritis. Kimi had this a little while ago. Trip to the vet, some tablets and a jab and Chicken & Rice for a while too and it cleared up.
I just made sure that when she went in the garden, I'd clean it up and wash it of the ground, seeing has how if she goes near it and stuff it would just spread.
Hope that helps and I hope your little soldier gets better =)
Sending some healing waves and love through the laptop. lol.

Well vet was not concerned at all about the diarrhea and orange stool. We left a sample but they have the no news is good news approach so I'm guessing I won't hear anything. We're to stay on chick and rice for a few more days and then gradually go back to his food, meanwhile giving him flagyl. Oh and they gave him some IV fluids which I was surprised about.

Then we heard the dreaded two words "heart murmur". UGH we were in for a physical last month and nothing, now he's got a grade 2 or 3 murmur. She said 3 and when I asked how come no one else heard it during his yearly she listened again and then said it's a 2. Either way we're headed back next week for a sonogram... UGH!!!
