Default Foaming at the mouth

Mia is a healthy 9 month old boxer who loves to run and play in the back yard. she can run and run for hours and not have any foam at the mouth....she will drink from the hose or her water bowl

but

as soon as I take her to the Dog park she runs for 5 minutes and has foam and sticky drool in her mouth/lips and she wont drink water. So I wipe it off her bcuz its as the owner....i have tired carring a water bottle to get her to drink...she wont drink with the other dogs...she just wants to run and play

any advise ?

LOL, Its a Normal Boxer thing I think! I take Newt to the dog park and she drools there A LOT! I also bring our own water, not good to share with a community bowl Mia is probably too busy to drink there....... the drooling is caused by smells and whatnot, I too also bring a washcloth for Newt........ She does play with a group of Boxers and there is only ONE out of the bunch that doesnt drool, only because he doesnt go around and sniff......lol...... good luck!

It definatley must be a boxer thing, because my Rocky does the same thing when he gets to go visit other doggy buddies. At some times he looks like he has rabies and I am constantly wiping the foam and drool from him and he don't care he is like I just want to play

Thanks for the Tip on the community bowl...i thought I was crazy since I was the only one walking around with a 1/2 gallon water bottle.....makes sence now that the foaming is related to smells and that...in our yard its just her and her toys....thus no foaming...thanks again

I remember when I finally convinced my husband to get a dog he was like "fine, but I want one that doesn't drool much" So I start telling him about all the boxers we've had at work and how none of them have been bad droolers. Then we walk by the dog park and there's this boxer right at the fence with the foamiest, nastiest mouth I've ever seen I was like "except for him "

SuzyQ isn't much of a drooler, but when she gets tearing around or is very excited she gets all foamy - yuk. And if she's excited at the vets or around other dogs at the park or in the store, she doesn't want treats or water or anything - just play play play

Sheer excitement at all the other dogs When we used to go to meetups you could look at the Boxers and there would be huge dog slobbers all over them

Arbie's foams at the mouth when he's running around and gets hot. I think (as others said) it's a boxer thing
