Im thinking it could have been something bit her or even something dropped on her (and it swollen) or...?? I was thinking about giving it another couple days and if its looking worse or hasnt gotten any better taking her into the vet, but lordy I feel like we have lived there and spent so much money already... puppies I tell ya!

I have no idea.. maybe an abcess of some sort?? I had a boxer mix once that stepped on a thorn and was limping.. We took him to the vet and they could not find the puncture site but a few days later he developed a big raised lump on his paw... It was really soft.. I applied a bit of pressure and a bunch of gunk came out of it!

Her last vac's were about two weeks ago, you think it would just now be showing up? No flea treatment though.

I know your pup is young, so I'm not sure, what all was she vaccinated for? Did she have Rabies yet? I'm so far past puppyhood at this point I'm not remembering. A friend of mine whose cat was vaccinated actually had such a severe reaction she almost died. The hair at injection site actually turned gray afterwards! Weird. A reaction to vaccines is called vaccinosis. Keep us posted on Lola's condition. Just an FYI: One thing I do know and I will always do from now on is have titers run. Hannah has only had one set of the full puppy shots. After that, I've had titers run which checks if the level of the antibodies are adequate, and every time they are. Most vets wont tell you that. So she'd have been overvaccinated had she had the shots. Duke is just coming up on being due for the titers. It's only going on a year that I've had him, and he hadn't had a Rabies vaccine until he was a year old when I got him. Also, in some states, a 3-year Rabies shot is legal. You can't do it for the first one, I don't think, but the next one you can get the 3-year. I've been told that the only difference between the 1 yr Rabies and 3 yr is a matter of a few inert ingredients to make the labeling different. In other words, the 1 yr will actually last 3 yrs! |

^^^^^What she said...it took some time after my pup's vaccinations and she got a huge lump also...I went to the vet...the vet said it was more than likely a reaction from the vaccinations...and it should go away in about another week..if not, I was to bring her back in...it went away...so lets hope for the best for your Lola..
