Hmmm, not sure what to suggest other than oil and eggs. Have you considered a raw diet? Aspen eats raw and gets bathed once per week and her skin is fine. My golden retriever had a skin condition for 6 years that no vet could even diagnose. We tried everything imaginable for his skin, natural stuff like fish oil and prescription stuff from the vet and nothing worked. One week on a raw diet and his skin condition was completely gone.

Maybe you could try an oatmeal bath?

Thank You for the Info...We had him on Raw Diet for over 6 months and he still had Dry skin and lost his hair.. So not sure if he has allergies or what is causing it...

We currently had him at the Holistic Vet on Saturday and he put him on Ear Drops he had Redness in his one ear and also gave him an Antibiotic for his Acne Covered Face and a Topical spray for his hair loss areas figures its a Bacterial Infection so we go back in 2 weeks for check up and 1 more antibiotic shot as Pills are a hassle with our guy, Spits them out no Matter how we give them to him....

We do have an Oatmeal shampoo for him but We don't have a bath tub as we live in a basement suite so we have to drive to a Dog Wash place to bathe him...Except last week I let him in the shower just let the water fall on him he loved it...haha

With the Oil.. what kind of Oil?? Fish or should I try a different Oil

I personally give Gouda Safflower oil and virgin Coconut oil. They have helped her a lot.

I used to give Taylor flax seed oil and hemp seed oil. You can get any of the oils at Community Natural Foods or Planet Organic in Calgary.

I get my Safflower oil at Walmart and I get the extra virgin coconut oil at GNC. But Im sure you can find both at a health food store near you.

Info on coconut oil and how much to feed:
Coconut Oil Benefits for Dogs | Canine Supplements

I use more then most would with the Safflower oil because it was recommended by Goudas oncologist. I think the normal amount is about a tablespoon per day.

I got some Coconut Oil from the Organic store here and gave him some last night... Ohh he was a drooling for it after i gave him a taste..lol

I also applied some to his neck area as he has bad dander there and the link you gave me said its ok to use.. Except within 5 minutes after putting some on his coat it looked like it was coated with Dander (which we assume was coconut oil drying) and he also seemed to have allot of hair come off on my hands...We dont brush him regularly so maybe I need to start doing so, he does seem to shed quit abit so I hope the coconut oil helps reduce the dry skin and hair loss some... Any suggestions as to why this happened? the white dander look or did you not try the oil on Goudas topical?
