Well, Reeko has his first skin tag It's REALLY small, and on his lower right side of his rib cage. We thought it was a tick at first but I looked at it closer and it's definetly a growth. It kind of resembles one of his nipples. Should we take him to the vet for it or just watch it? It's just attached to his skin, kind of like a raised mole or something

Rocco has a pretty sizeable one on his "area." We call it the "Weenie Wart." He is having it removed next week because I don't want it to turn into something bad - especially in that area! I would just watch it. If you are really not sure about it have the vet take a peek. Hope all is well!

Sounds like what we just had removed from Jaxon that was benign. It was ugly looking but no trouble. We removed it because we didnt know what it was.

Maggie has a tiny one about half the size of a grain of rice.
We had it looked at when she went for her annual check -up.
Vet said no problem it's harmless.
I keep an eye on it anyway, just in case it changes.

I pulled one off Tucker almost 2 years ago thinking it was a tick. I just noticed this week that it has grown back. Kinda makes me wonder why he likes me.

It also is about 1/2 grain of rice sized.

I didn't know they could turn into a problem. I'll have the vet take a look.

Poor Tucker ....my boyfriend did the same thing too as we thought it was a tick....once I realized it wasn't coming off I took a closer look at it. Its REALLY tiny....I'm suprised I even noticed it but I'm always doing tick checks on the dog as they like exploring the woods on our property.

We've noticed something like this on our Boxer Ruby recently... any update on what it was? Have they come back or reappeared?

Jaxon's had a very long name attached to it and I cant remember what it was called. And no it never came back. It was benign and we could have left it alone but I wasn't taking any chances.

My 8yr old guy has had 4 of these skin-tags surgically removed. He's also had numerous others that started to grow then stopped and eventually disappeared. In all cases they were classified as benign cytomas. They appear as small meaty, sometimes mushroom-shaped skin growths. If left alone they will sometimes go away on their own, but in many cases they continue to grow and surgery is necessary. He's had one on his front toe, on the inside flap of his ear, on the corner of his eyelid, on his chest, on the inside of his right rear leg (etc.). Just about every Boxer owner I know has this issue.... its very common. Get your vet to check it out in all cases just to be sure.
