just picked Kona up from 18 days at a Kennel. They refused to feed raw so he had to have kibble instead.
The first night home poops were normal. the next day his poops were soft but still formed..as the day progressed his stools were becoming more watery and now I have been up all night with him every hour on the hour with explosive diarrhea. is this because i immediately switched him back to raw food? could this be giardia? do i fast him for 24 hours and then boiled chicken and rice to settle things down? ANy advice would be greatly appreciated. |

I would fast him 24 hours and then give him boiled chicken and rice. As for if this happened because of switching to kibble I dont know for sure maybe someone else can chime in.

So sorry to hear about this. I think fasting is a good idea but I would also contact your vet and bring in a sample to rule out a parasite.
Also, it is imperative that you keep him hydrated. Low sodium chicken broth, pedialyte etc. can help with this. If he is not improving I would take him to the vet. Minimally they could give him something for the stomach cramping. Poor baby. Let us know how he's doing. |

I'd try putting a plastic plate under him as he "went" to catch some of it

You could also give Kaopectate to help the Diarrhea.
