Kaden has environmental allergies and benadryl isn't working for him, (it use to help a tinny bit but not anymore) he's still scratching his ears to make them bleed, his jowls, his chin and bitting his paws. Is either Reactine or Claritin ok to give him? (not with the -D for decongestant). I read somewhere that Vet's are recommending something other than Benadryl this year but I can't seem to locate the site.

Dogs can build up a tolerance to medications if used frequently. Try using an antihistamine with Clemastine as the active ingredient. It's brand name is Tavist. You can order it through Amazon much cheaper and have it shipped to you.

There are some natural ways to help prevent and treat allergies as well. You can use them along with traditional medicines.
