Emma keeps throwing up huge amounts of food. I've taken her to the vet and everything comes up clear - this includes fecal testing and blood work.
The vet said she could have acid reflux. Generally her vomiting is happening in the morning. The vet said that the acid is probably building up over night and when she eats her breakfast in the morning it's causing nausea and leading to her vomiting. Has anyone else dealt with this? Should I change her diet? Right now she is on Canidae Pure Elements - I have done research and it is no longer made at the Diamond Factory. I know that her previous owners fed her Nutro - but this is her third bag of Canidae with us and the vomiting only just started as of recent.

Could she be eating too fast? Maybe give her just a little at a time to see if she can keep anything down. Does she vomit immediately after eating? Might need to seek the advice of a specialist vet.

I have deal with such type of health problem often on my 6 Boxers.
For the times when they have a acid stomach I then use for my 6 Boxers dogs Cimetidine of 300MG, one tablet twice a day,...plus, in order to help them have a healthy digestion and immunity, I also give every one of them (twice a day too), a chewable..-(milk ,gluten, yeast, wheat, soy, egg, grapefruit, preservativ es,color, sodium, and artificial flavor free )-tablet of Probiotics Complex; which contains 1 billion active Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Bifidum. This replenish beneficial healthy bacteria that may be depleted as a results of a poor overall digestive health. I give them the Probiotic tablets before eating. This Probiotic tablets have help stop the digestive problems my dogs had, including frequents vomits. You can find the Probiotics on any GNC store or Walgreens. But, check with your Vet before giving this to your dog. As Im not a Vet. Im just answering your question and every dog is different. However, This have work quite well for my dogs that have a very sensitive stomach. I have switch and try every type of dog food and my dogs had problems with all except now that I have them on Hills ID and using the Probiotics. Finally now there are no more vomits, nor digestive problems. Well,..Good luck!

She's 53 pounds and lately she's been kinda picking at her food. (Not seeming as excited about it as she was when we first got her.) She doesn't throw up immediately, this morning it was about 2 and 1/2 hours after she ate breakfast.
I have recently been taking them to a beach where the tide sometimes brings up raw fish - every once in a while Emma sneaks one when I'm not looking so I'm wondering if this could be it. Also, she was on Nutro before and her body was used to a lot of fillers. So I'm wondering if the fact that she's completely grain-free could have something to do with it? I just don't want her to be sick. Going to avoid the beach and see if it persists. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

I'm not opposed to raw feeding and I really appreciate that great raw feeding guide that was just posted - but I definitely need to do more homework. Just not sure why this would just come on all of the sudden.
Appreciate all the feedback though. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App
