Thanks for all the warm welcomes. Crate training night #1 has begun. Let see how this goes. I'm hoping he's exhausted from his first night at puppy school. Hopefully he'll just pass out

As I first time Boxer owner myself (and new to the fourm) I agree with the crate training beginning early. My Layla is 1 1/2 yrs old and I began crating as soon as she came home. I did the research as to the size they can get purchased the largest crate so I didn't have to buy one every few months. The crate came with a divider so it could be adjusted with her size. I have learned that Boxers are extremely smart, very lovable and crazy playful dogs..if you pay attention they will let you know when it is potty time.

First night of puppy school went smoothly. So proud of my little man. He also did so well on his first night of crate training. He didn't go all night. Yay! He's such a smart boy. I bet it helped that at the end of puppy class he played with his classmate for a little while. It wore him out. Lol hopefully things go as smoothly today

He is the cutest little guy ever!! I have a soft spot for white boxers... waiting for my two to grow up a little so we can get another white baby. Anyways, like everyone said just make sure you take him out after playing, napping, drinking and eating and use a command.. we use ''peepee's outside'' lol! It works though.
As for crating- we don't use them as both my husband and i work from home so we are with them the majority of the time.. but with my other boxer (who now lives with my parents)- we crated her from 6 weeks old. FAR too young to be away from mother I know- we were very mis informed at the time. Good luck with the leg... if in doubt call up your vet. Welcome to the wonderful world of owning boxers!! He is GORGEOUS !! |

Thanks so much. He's a doll. I really think we got lucky with him. His leg seems to be doing so much better. The breeder I got him from has been absolutely wonderful. I email her constantly with tons of questions lol. I crated him last night for the first time and he did awesome. I'm sure the potty training will come with time.
