Hi guys. I took Jaxon to the vet about a month ago because of this lump. I will try to post a pic if it doesn't work as usual there will be a link posted.
Anyway, my vet was out of town and had a fill in vet. She took a sample and looked under the microscope at it and said it was only inflammation cells. Whew I was very happy about that. It didn't and still doesn't bother him. It is attached to the bone or so she thinks since it doesn't move easily. Gave me anitbiotics in case it was an infection that wasn't showing yet told to give him vetprofen and sent us home. Well as of today there is no change so I called my vet back. I am waiting on her call. They told me the other vet had left it for her to look at when she got back and she agreed there wasn't anything bad in it. So what's ya'lls expert opinions? http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f1...n/IMG_2334.jpg |

sorry I am no expert but glad you went to the vet and at the very least you have this all on record and at a starting point of this lump/bump. Does it seem to bother him?

Is it near a joint? Sometimes dogs, like people, can get cysts one type being a ganglion cyst. I really hope it is nothing. I would talk to your vet and see if another aspiration or biopsy is in order. Perhaps an xray as well to see if it is adhered to any bone.

Thanks everyone. I never heard back from her today so I will call back in the morning. I was thinking a cyst too but does it usually have inflammatory cells in them? Being a nurse isn't helping either. Lol I do babies and they generally don't have cysts. Guess I better hit google and see.
And no it doesn't bother him at all. Even when you manipulate it and he isn't limping or favoring it so far. |
