Yesterday we had to take our pups with us in the car for the day. We stopped often to let them do their business but most of the time they didn't want to! Anyway throughout an entire day (& night) and many stops, they only peed about 4 times and pooped once! Today we are home & back to normal but every time my little girl puppy goes out to pee, instead if just once, she squats every few seconds! In about 5 minutes she peed about 6 times! I couldn't see if much was coming out (she squats VERY low!) but I am really worried that she may have a bladder infection now!
We're going to the vet tomorrow but just wondering if anyone else has had similar problems with a pup who has held her bladder for a long period of time? Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

Bailey does the same thing ever time she gets a urinary tract infection...she pees once then squats a bunch more but nothing comes out. We just found out that she was getting the infections because she has bladder stones so be careful and get her to the vet asap!

Dora just started doing the same squat after peeing thing last night/this morning. She also had a few dribble accidents in house. I am taking her to the vet this morning to see if it is uti. She is only 10 weeks old and has been so good at potty outside until now.

Thanks for the replies! She seems a little better off today but going to the vet anyway for 12 week shots so I will get him to check for other problems.

Sounds like a UTI. I would see about collecting a pee sample before you head into the vets. Chances are she will be more comfortable peeing at home then at some strange place.

Just got back from vet. Took urinalysis and will hear back tomorrow, will follow up then. Picked up some probiotics called FortiFlora. It is a powder that comes in packets to sprinkle on food once a day. I used it on food after vet and she loves the powder. Hopefully It will help improve her overall immunity regardless of her uti situation.

Hope she's feeling better soon.
FortiFlora is good but vets charge an arm and a leg for that stuff. If you keep her on digestive enzymes after the Fortiflora I would recommend Prozyme. Here's a link to it: Products |
