Dry, cracking pads
Hey everyone,
As the weather is getting colder here I noticed the pads on Duke's paws are looking dry and a bit cracked. We walk on pavement a lot and I know that's hard on the pads of their paws. I worry it's going to get worse in the winter with the snow and salt. Besides wearing booties what can we do to help/prevent this from getting worse? Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App

Hmmm... Bag balm? What is that? I think I've heard of it but not sure. Do they sell it at pet stores?

I'm not sure if they sell at it pet stores or not. They probably do, but you'd pay more. I got mine from my local WalMart I think.

You can use Musher's Secret or even purchase PAWS which look like rubber balloons. They just slip on over the feet

I use the musher's secret when we are in snow as it prevents the snow from sticking in between his paws and it's great to keep them moisturized. Just make sure you don't mind a few greasy paws prints on your floors afterwards  I bought mine at a small local pet shop here. I probably paid more for them but I like to support the local community stuff

I'll check into those products and see what I can find. I would rather use booties on him but hubby refuses! It would just make things so much easier... lol

You don't have to wipe dirty paws and their feet stay dry. They're very easy to get on and off too so..... all plusses! Tell him to not be so silly...
