So My vet took out a hard nodule on the 18th out of our boxers neck area. it was right where his neck bends from his head. If that makes sense.
They sent the nodule off on the 19th to a pathologist, the vet said it should take 2-3 days for results.....they sent a "pending" results fax back on christmas eve. Why Pending Status? Still no results as of yesterday the 26th, i called the office twice and they told me that once it comes in the vet will call me. SHe did call me lastnight letting me know that sometimes they take a week. Why? Tomorrow will be 10 calendar days. Anyone else had this happen? Is it a good thing that it's taking longer? Or is it because of the Holidays? Or is it because they found bad cells and are doing the staging process. Ugh. I read that if it is taking a little longer is because it doesn't look like a threat compared to other tumors/masses that have been sent to them so they do those ones first. I have read in other sites that it takes longer because they have to run more tests after they found bad cells. I have been going crazy with anxiety over this. Our Boxer Bolt is turning 3 in April. He is just to young and full of life for this to be happening. What are your thoughts?

I know this wait is killing you
I am sure you will have results no later than tomorrow. Good vibes are being sent your way.

Ya that's what I was thinking. I'm glad we got it out, which the vet said it came out really easy but just looked gnarly and had blood vessels in it and also had a smaller flat nodule attached to it. But it wasn't attached to muscle or anything but she did want it sent out, she likes to send ALL masses out no matter what because they can do a full report on it compared to them only being able to do a partial. Our vet likes to get it right the first time and not guess and estimate.
I worry about everything so it just is making me get anxious.
