Hey everyone! Duke has suddenly developed these red dots on his body - mostly his chest area. I'm thinking they are hives and he might be allergic to the new dryer sheets we just got. What do you think? Do these look like hives? I just find it odd that he's not really scratching at them?

I agree, they look like little bites. I haven't seen a boxer with hives but Maggie had hives once (she was a boxer/GSD mix) but her fur was different than a boxer so the hives looked different that what I'm seeing in the picture. Hope you can figure it out. Let us know.

All over his chest area mostly. 3-4 on his tummy. The chest area is covered by his vest when we take him out for walks. We just washed it and used new dryer sheets that's why I was thinking it might be an allergic reaction to that.

I have Benadryl but only the kids formula in liquid form. They don't seem to be bothering him (he's not scratching) so we're rewashing his stuff and using minimal detergent and no fabric softener. We'll see if that works. If not it may be the new beef chews we got for him (beef tendon). They aren't as stinky as bully sticks but my husband said that while he was sawing them in half (they were huge) it looked like they were oozing oil of some kind. I can't think of anything else new that we've introduced to the house or his diet.

That could be it too. I guess just keep an eye on Duke & see how he does. At least they aren't bothering him. Fingers are crossed they stay not bothering him. When I wash the dogs stuff, I do minimal soap & softner but also put it on for an extra rinse cycle.
