Porter has started to vomit about 10 hours after eating. Not after every meal, but three times since Saturday. Do you think I should be worried? He is playing fine, eating fine, and pooping fine. I thought it was over treating since we have started obedience school and he is on clicker training. But yesterday I started giving him one small piece of kibble per click and he just threw up again.

Bag is half done. He eats 2x a day. I don't think it is hunger pukes since he throws up some kibble. This morning he was very hungry (as always) and he boxer burned the entire yard several times over and had a nice solid poopy. Not sure what is going on.

Yea, that was my first instinct...so I stoped treats (except the kibble) and cut the peanut butter/cheese the trainer wants us to give for responding to his name. Now he gets the squeeze tube filled with his normal wet food for coming when called. I tried to compensate for the "extras" by going a little light on his meals. He still threw up. Meanwhile he is acting, eating, drinking, and pooping fine.

Well took porter to the vet. Not so much for the pukes but his itchy ears. He has a yeast infection. Hopefully that is on the mend with a cleaning and drops. The vet wasn't too concerned about the periodic vomiting except thinking he may have allergies to his food or something else. No temp or abdinal discomfort. I had put some pumpkin in his food yesterday am and evening and we have had no vomit. Hopefully whatever it was has passes. We'll watch the ears and tummy and if all does not clear might think about changing the protien base of his food.

Oh that's good news! Hopefully his ears clear up quickly.
I know some dogs develop allergies/intolerance to poultry based dog foods. My neighbour's samoyed can only eat Acana's lamb and apple formula or she gets explosive diarrhea and vomiting. |
