Just received updates on Cameron:
He had his surgery done today and a kidney stone was removed. The stone will be sent to the lab to find out what kind of stone it is. Then we can discuss on a special diet that he might have to be on so that we can prevent the occurence of kidney stones in his bladder area again. He is finally neutered, also. As for the lump under his ribcage, it turned out to be a cracked rib and soft tissues were growing around the cracked rib. Boy, was I surprised to hear this! At this point, there's nothing to do with the rib because it is healing itself and, maybe, the lump will disappear in due time. One reason why the lump is prominent is because he's a skinny boy and the lump is more noticeable on him. We're still trying to figure out when and how he cracked his rib - we're still scratching our heads here. I wouldn't have known he had a cracked rib because he gave no sign of pain whenever I picked him up. Cameron hates baths and he gets bathe twice a week because of his mange. When he hears the bath water running, he runs away. I have to pick him up and bring him to the tub. And he never yelped or whimpered whenever I picked him up. I hope this is a good sign that he's not in any pain from this cracked rib. I've been stressed out all day, worrying about Cameron. I'm so relieved to know he's going to be better and will be very happy once we have him back home this Saturday. BTW, 2nd skin scraping also tested negative for mites - YAY! He's now completely off Ivermectin. Hopefully, this paves the way for a healthy and happy life for Cameron. Now, I'm going to continue with my efforts to turn him into a pretty boxer boy LOL! Thank you for all your good vibes and prayers. Love this forum! |

So glad to hear he did well! And yay for no more mites!!! Maybe the cracked rib is an old injury and just isn't painful anymore?
