LUMP found on Romeo :(

Hi everyone,

It feels like my worst nightmare....Romeo is 7 months old and even though Boxers are prone to lumps I'm very scared. I found a lump near Romeo's armpit..... I have posted a pic. I will be making a vet appointment for him in the near future....Any ideas what kind it could be ?? Thanks!

Is it a fatty lump ?
Google sebaceous cysts......

Looks like a histiocytoma and considering your pups age I would bet thats what it is. However I would still get it checked out

What is a histiocytoma?

I agree with Sue (GoudasMom), looks like a histiocytoma to me as well.

Thank you everyone! We'll see what the vet says. If it's a histiocytoma he may recommend leaving it. From what i've read it should go away on its own. But if not and its gets bigger we'll consider removing it. He is also getting neutered soon so maybe its best to have it taken off at the same time. I'm hoping its benign, thats all. I want to do whats best for my boy whatever it takes

Kippah got two histiocytomas right after I got her. They went away on there own

My Modak had two in his life time. First on we removed and the second one our new vet said it would likely go away on its own if left alone. And it did

Definitely get it checked out... but one of my guys had one that looked just like that. Watched and waited 4 months or so to see if it would go away. It did not and actually got a bit bigger so had it taken off about a month ago. Histiocytoma. He still has another one on the very back of his left leg... about the size of a pencil eraser... has been there 8 or 9 months now and not changing size, shape or color... so am leaving alone for now.
